There’s the Aviation Expo in January where ultralights, drones and homebuilt aircraft are on display. The drone racing and new aircraft technology there is beyond compare!
February is full to the brim with great events. Enjoy a Roaring 20’s Arts & Crafts Festival, with nearly 80 art, craft and food vendors fill the streets of historic downtown Sebring. Visit the Highlands County Fair where they crown the new Miss Highlands County and showcase youth achievements from livestock to citrus trees. Or take in the Strawberry Festival at Henscratch Farms and Winery, featuring a four-hour rock, country, bluegrass concert, tours and tastings, as well as strawberry shakes, shortcakes, pies, jams and more!
The Highlands Art League holds its show and sale in April. The Heartland Triathlon takes place in historic downtown Sebring in June; and the Annual Car and Bike Show in Lake Placid is held in July and features great food, entertainment and awards for each class.
And there’s no way we can forget Sebring International Raceway, which hosts exciting race events throughout the year. They hold seven SCCA Nationals, a Vintage Racing and Trans-Am Series in March, the FARA Sebring 500 in July, NASA Regional Championships in September, the Dirty Dozen Mud Run in November, the HSR Sebring Classic 12-hour in December and more. Plus, there’s even a Seafood and Music Festival in February you won’t want to miss!
